The UK public sector publishes over 70,000 tenders every year to procure a huge range of products and services. Public sector organisations pay promptly and often publish tenders for contracts lasting 1-2 years. Contract Award Notices report which company has won a tender. Many Members like to receive Contract Award Notices because of the excellent subcontracting opportunities they provide eg with the company which has won the tender. For example, if your company supplies heating systems you might choose to receive Contract Award Notices for construction projects in order to seek to supply the heating systems required on the projects.
CPV (Common Procurement Vocabulary) numbers have been developed by the European Union to help procurement personnel in public sector classify their contract notices and make it easier for suppliers to find the right Tenders. Every OJEU Tender has a CPV code number. We also refer to CPV Codes as Tender categories.

  • What is a Prior Information Notice (PIN) ?
  • What is an Expression Of Interest ?
  • Can more than one person in our company access my account ?
  • What are CPV Codes ?
  • I don’t understand a question in the PQQ – what does it mean ?
  • Something isn’t very clear in the tender specification – am I allowed to ask the buyer for clarification ?
  • We’ve only been trading for 18 months – is it worth bidding now or should we wait ?
Yes – you can choose from 10 UK regions. Choose just one region or any combination of regions – whatever suits your business.
Yes you do. The Government has stipulated that all UK public sector bodies should award a minimum of 25% of their tenders to SMEs and Micro businesses. Furthermore, many local authorities have made a specific pledge to increase their business with SMEs because they recognise the innovation and increased local employment that SMEs can bring. Many tenders these days even state they are SME Friendly.
The first step is to express your interest with the public sector body that has issued the tender. This doesn’t commit you to bidding for the tender but will allow you to obtain the full tender documentation. You will then have all of the information you need to decide whether or not to bid.
To express your interest you need to follow the instructions in the tender advert (contract notice).
Quite simply a professional writer will produce a bid that is much more likely to be successful. All of our writers have backgrounds in public sector procurement and understand what buyers are looking for from a successful bid – particularly how to create high scoring responses to crucial non-core questions. Also – the average bid document (PQQ or ITT) takes 2-3 days to complete so using a professional writer will save you a huge amount of time.
